Opened: 2002
An incredibly important building in the evolution of The Island School, Kinship Hall and the Forrestal Library completed construction in 2002. It has 4 dedicated classroom spaces, 2 large cisterns, and shows an unprecedented commitment to renewable energy.
This building houses a 9.6 kW array on the south facing roof, a 4.0 kW pole array to the direct south the building, 100 gallons of solar passive collectors, and is also the collection point for many of the weather instruments used in CampIS. The cisterns each hold over 17,000 gallons of water that can be used anywhere on the main campus.
