Administrative Building

Contruction 2003

The administrative building is the main hub for the 3-phase power distribution on the CEI campus. It also houses the renewable energy tie-in for the CEI Campus.

In 2014 CEI underwent a complete power overhaul, upgrading the CEI campus power supply from single phase to three phase. This allowed for marked increase in efficiency in the use of the seawater pumps (by far the largest power draw) that supplies salt water to the wet lab research tanks. The overall base load of the CEI campus was reduced by roughly 30%, improving CEI’s net electrical export to an average of 60%.
